Consequences of unemployment for the Kazakh economy

The article conducts a quantitative of the key aspects of the macroeconomic phenomenon of unemployment in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period 2012-2016. We calculated indexes accepted in the world and domestic practice (employment level, unemployment rate, etc.) and analyzed their dynamics. We have made an attempt to assess the efficiency of the state regulation of unemployment Kazakhstan. Along with the traditional indexes, we calculated new indexes that allow to approximately assess direct and indirect state’s costs, which it is forced to bear because of unemployment, i.e. to determine economic consequences of unemployment. We justify the inapplicability of Okun’s law for the current domestic economy.
