Purpose. To reveal the effect of anemia on myocardial infarction incidence in the early postoperative period in patients with femoral neck fractures who underwent total hip replacement. Materials and Methods. The correlation of myocardial infarction development with low hemoglobin level on Day 2 after surgery determined retrospectively in 303 patients at the age of 65-92 years with femoral neck fractures who admitted to traumatological departments of Yekaterinburg within the first 24 hours from injury not later. Results. 100 g/l and more hemoglobin level in the early postoperative period established to be connected with the decrease of myocardial infarction incidence in patients with femoral neck fractures who underwent total hip replacement. Conclusion. Postoperative anemia of moderate and severe degree is a predictor of myocardial infarction development in patients with femoral neck fractures who underwent total hip replacement.
