The summary: In recent years, in many regions of the Russian Federation, there has been an increase in the incidence of the thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism is a clinical syndrome caused by a deficiency of thyroid hormones in the body or a decrease in their biological effect at the tissue level. Among all diseases, the most frequent are various forms of goiter, including diffuse-toxic goiter and nodal forms, which require surgical intervention. After removal of the entire thyroid gland or a significant part of it in the operated patient, life-long postoperative hypothyroidism develops.
