The article deals with proverbs and sayings as one of the main constituents elements of the linguistic world-image. The authors underLine anthropocentricity, hetero stereotypes and auto stereotypes which appear due to proverbs and sayings. Besides the article examines various definitions of proverbs and sayings and reveaL differences between them.
