Бесплатный доступ

This work is intended to raise the problem of social relations and the peculiarities of life in India with the help of postcolonial teaching, as well as to analyze how colonial history influenced this. The study includes theoretical material from the so-called “Orientalism” and Gayatri Spivak's essay “Can Subaltern speak". Nowadays, the agenda of social problems in India remains quite relevant, and a postcolonial view of the situation is a critical lens that allows us to analyze the long-term impact of Western rule on the heritage of the local population. With the help of such an analysis, it is possible to better understand the true causes of discrimination, exploitation, caste division, dehumanization, and child labor. Finding the root of problems can help shed light on many disadvantages of society, gain valuable information and give a chance to build a society based on equality and justice. To achieve the goal the book Untouchable by Mulk Raj Anand will be used.
