The construction of the wealth index in some regions of the Russian Federation

The paper investigates the method of constructing a generalized index on the example of six factors of some regions of the Russian Federation. Thomson's estimation method is used as a tool for finding a generalized indicator. Using the criterion Spearman's notebook is considered to describe the data in one indicator. However, if this criterion is not met, the data is divided into clusters. The chosen method allows to describe several variables by one General factor. The coefficients of the regression equation for each variable are found, and by summing we obtain a generalized factor characterizing the level of the subject's state. Based on the obtained factors, some regions of the Russian Federation are compared. The most "successful" regions with in each cluster are identified, these results are confirmed by official statistics.
