Post-soviet practice of corporate social responsibility under recent economic crisis on example of Russia and Belarus

The article discusses the realities of corporate social responsibility in Russia and Belarus resulted from the recent economic crisis that enabled to diagnose a true attitude to the phenomenon in these countries. The Russian CSR practice is characterized by a sharp decrease of expenses paid for personal, social activities and non-financial accountability, frozen social investments at the federal level but saved regional initiatives that yield companies real profit and reputation benefit. The companies that incorporated CSR principles into their corporate strategy turn out to be more sustainable. The Belarusian CSR practice is characterized by a decrease of expenses paid for personnel but without mass discharging, increased charity help and social investments saved in previous scales.
