Usually, archaeological timbers are used only for dating of archaeological/ architectural objects in Siberia. In this paper we try to analyze dendroarchaeological material in a new way. For this reason, the main attention is to illustrate the process of constructing tree-ring width chronologies (TRW) and the application of a new approach to sample preparation and measurement of annual ring parameters. It is clearly shown that the detailed focus on such sources of indirect information as fire scars from archaeological wood samples and the distribution of positive/negative extrema of the linear parameters of the growth ring brings important new data for the reconstruction of social processes in the past.
