Potential for diversification of labor migration from Kyrgyzstan: land of the rising sun

The article analyzes the potential of labor migration from Kyrgyzstan to Japan, the advantages of developing external labor migration to Japan for Kyrgyzstan, the specifics of labor activity in this country, and describes the potential of jobs for Kyrgyz migrants in the Land of the Rising Sun. It was revealed that the reception of migrant workers is also relevant for Japan itself, which has long experienced demographic difficulties and a shortage of able-bodied population. The study reveals that the greatest employment potential for Kyrgyz migrants is in some service sectors of predominantly low- and medium-skilled labor. Among the most important difficulties of potential employment of Kyrgyz citizens in Japan were identified: bureaucratic, linguistic (difficulty in learning the Japanese language) and domestic (the need to adapt to living conditions in a completely different country). The author concluded that Kyrgyz citizens, having gained work experience in Japan, can significantly improve the standard of living of their families, contribute to the growth of remittances to their home country, and acquire new skills and knowledge.
