Potential for gastronomic tourism in Chernivtsi region (Ukraine)

This investigation deals with tourist potential of gastronomic tourism in Chernivtsi region of Ukraine. The author reveals features of local cuisine in Chernivtsi region, and highlights the key fine cuisine dishes attracting gastronomic tourists. The main factors influencing the formation of cuisine in Chernivtsi region are described in detail, namely natural, historical, settlement, demographic factors. The article discloses the main factors of development and promotion of gastronomic tourism in Chernivtsi region. A brief analysis of gastronomic tourism market in Chernivtsi region of Ukraine is carried out as well as the features of strategy development for design and promotion of Chernivtsi regional gastronomic product on the international market are explored. The author reveals role of festivals, folk holidays, quests and other elements of event tourism in formation of gastronomic destination and characterizes the main gastronomic festivals in Chernivtsi region. The article presents the research results of the main aspects of gastronomic tourism development and the analysis of gastronomic tourism market in Chernivtsi region. The author substantiates the determination of prerequisites for formation and implementation of a tourist product and gives the forecast for the promotion of gastronomic tourism product in Chernivtsi region on the international market. The features of gastronomic potential of Chernivtsi region are revealed. The classification of Chernivtsi region gastronomic tourism destinations is provided. The SWOT analysis has been developed for comprehensive studies of Chernivtsi region gastronomic tourism development nature. The main socio-economic problems of Chernivtsi region development are determined. The author gives the solution of above mentioned socio-economic problems by the development of gastronomic tourism.
