The article delves into the examination of the effects of virtual reality technology and virtual worlds on human consciousness. It explores the influence of virtual environments on emotional reactions, social interactions, cultural identity perception, and the formation of meta-identity. Ethical considerations and the implications for users’ mental health are also addressed. Research suggests that virtual experiences can affect physiological and mental performance, and the technology itself can be used in medicine, psychotherapy, education, entertainment, business, and other fields. The narrative of the article is aimed at demonstrating the transformation of the perception of one’s own identity inside and outside virtual worlds. The study of users’ interaction with modern virtual universes and the transformation of human perception of subjective and objective reality is of great importance for the formation of tools to regulate this technology in the future.
