Potentialities of historic-cultural zoning: on the example of the Tomsk region

Today, an array of archaeological information available for archaeologists is considerable. Systematization and analysis of this information makes it possible to establish a database that can be used in preservation of cultural heritage objects. In 2017-2018, the department of rescue archaeological works of IAET SB RAS has worked on the collection and systematization of information about archaeological sites located in the territory of the Tomsk Region. The collected statistical data bank includes a detailed description of each object. The available information is essential for the analysis of the statistical frequency of occurrence of the sites belonging to a particular period under the specific landscape-topographical conditions. Based on the statistical data, it is possible to construct a predictive model of location of the cultural heritage sites in the territory of the Tomsk region.
