The victim as a participant in criminal proceedings

The article examines some problematic issues of the institution of the victim as one of the key participants in the criminal process in the Russian criminal proceedings. The concepts between victim and injured are distinguished. The author offers to replace the word “victim” with the word “injured” in some rule of the criminal procedure law because it does not compliant with the rule of the Russian criminal procedure law. The modified concept of the victim in the criminal process is concretized and proposed. It is also proposed to add to the rules of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation additional types of harm from a criminal act: social and psychological.
