Ketsai Kekketyn, a talented Koryak writer, managed to write three novels in his short life. They are translated into Russian, but these translations have their own lives, which are of significant interest. The most interesting is the fate of the novel "Evnyto-pastukh". The word for word translation was made by scholar S. N. Stebnitsky at once, in 1936. Then the story was twice subjected to literary adaptations. Both following literary editors, Y. S. Rytkheu and V. D. Dudintsev, treated the novel very carefully, it retained a recognizable style of the writer. However, the ending of the novel was distorted.
