Turns in the sphere of economic cooperation between Russia and China from 1992 to 1996: causes and consequences

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, China and Russia, as countries with different ideologies and social systems, strengthened and developed bilateral relations with all their might. Both countries not only established friendly relations in politics, but also gradually strengthened cooperation in the economy. The purpose of the article was to review the process of Russian-Chinese trade and economic cooperation in 1992-1996 and the reasons for its twists and turns. The main method of research is included in how the comparison of interstate contracts, the analysis of pro-government documents of the RF and the PRC, an empirical study of cases of cooperation between the two countries and algorithmization. The article shows that during 19921996, economic cooperation between Russia and China had turning points. As well as the volume of trade abruptly removed in 1994. But the general trend of economic cooperation between the two countries was curtailed. Both countries used different methods and worked closely together to increase the volume of trade and expand the interaction model. It is concluded that there is a favorable basis for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries. Trade and economic cooperation between the two countries should be based on stable political relations, and also follow the path of standardization and internationalization.
