The article shows, based on the memoirs of U.-Zh. Sh. Dondukov, the everyday life of students in post-war Leningrad. It portrays the domestic and everyday difficulties that students of that time faced, as well as the cultural life of post-war Leningrad through the eyes of U.-Zh. Sh. Dondukov, including a brief overview of his biography. Additionally, the article reflects the challenges of adaptation faced by veterans of the Great Patriotic War in their peaceful everyday lives, against the backdrop of the physical and psychological traumas they endured. The author concludes that the student life had a dual nature. Illnesses, lack of resources, and the overall atmosphere of the post-war period were all part of students' lives, but despite this, there were also positive moments that accompanied young people during their time as students.
