Improving the Efficiency of Logistics for Construction Projects through the Implementation of a Digital Development Strategy

The aim of the work is to study methods for achieving the sustainability of logistical support for construction projects in a crisis due to digitalization. Research methods: information analysis and synthesis, case analysis, classification. The research draws on the works of Russian scholars, as well as analytical and news sources. In the main part of the work, the classification of material and technical resources in construction is given, and methods and models of logistics management in construction are analyzed. The analysis of the crisis management of Russian companies for the period 1998–2024 showed that the largest companies are more flexible in a crisis due to customer orientation and cost reduction in the most difficult period. It has been established that the impact of the crisis of 2022–2024 on the construction market is one of the most significant: there is a significant increase in prices for Russian and imported goods, a shortage of labor, and the unavailability of foreign technologies. At the same time, companies in the construction market are adapting to the new conditions much better than in the past. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the development of a digital development strategy depending on the classification of companies in the construction market. It is proved that a combination of strategic development factors and supplier diversification will contribute to improving the efficiency of using the material and technical resources of the construction industry. The most significant risks for the construction industry in the current crisis are rising prices for Russian and foreign construction materials, machinery, and equipment; labor shortages, and increased circulation costs. The main task for a business is to reduce the cost of handling material and technical resources. Its solution can be achieved through the digitalization of logistics processes and relationships with contractors, as well as through the search for alternative suppliers of materials, equipment and technologies in construction. In the final part of the paper, conclusions and recommendations are formulated on the development of material and technical support for the construction industry in times of crisis.
