Improving the efficiency of post harvest operations of flax raw material

The article substantiates the necessity of the active search for new manufacturing technologies of flax products in order to increase its economic efficiency. The authors show that the imperfect technologies of the post-harvesting of flax raw material are at present the most crucial for obtaining high-quality flax. This is particularly relevant to the North-West of Russia, due to unfavourable weather conditions during the period of flax harvesting, resulting in high humidity of flax straw and rotted straw that causes considerable material and financial losses. It is suggested to use the technology of the active redrying of damp rotted straw rolls for solving the problem. The article covers the technological aspects ofactive redrying organization, cost structure under this technology, the calculation of their economic productivity, expressed in the significant yield growth of flax products.
