The quality improvement of mathematics education through the implementation of competence approach as a part of the student Olympiad movement

The article discusses the issues concerning organization of the Olympiad mathematics movement for students at undergraduate level of a technical higher education institution; the quality improvement of mathematics education through the competence approach. There is considered the holding subject Olympiads on mathematics which is promoting the formation of economic- mathematical competence of students in substantive and personal aspects, as well as the implementation of pedagogical conditions of this competence development in terms of the Olympiads holding.
