The article examines the issues related to the analysis of the competitiveness of enterprises of the agrarian sector of the economy of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. As a method of analysis of the competitive environment the Herfindahl - Hirschman Index (HHI) is proposed to use. The unevenness of market leaders' positions is assessed by means of Lind coefficient. In particular, concentration index in production of winter wheat is identified, the competitive environment in the market of this culture is described, an analysis of the potential competitiveness of agricultural enterprises by administrative districts of Karachay-Cherkess Republic is given. Based on the output analysis the ranking of regions of the republic according to the potential of competitiveness and competitiveness of conventional products is suggested.
