Improving the competitiveness of the company by improving its information support

The article presents the results of a study related to the study of the impact of information and communication technologies on the competitiveness of an organization (on the example of a manufacturing enterprise). The theoretical foundations of the competitiveness of the company and the information support of the enterprise management process, the relationship of these categories are considered. It is proved that modern information and communication technologies are one of the most important components of ensuring the competitiveness of the enterprise. The article also analyzes the factors that affect the quality of information support for enterprise management. The tools for choosing the most preferred information system in the enterprise are considered. To select the class of the most preferred information system, it is proposed to use the MacFarlane matrix, which is necessary to assess the “information intensity” of the organization, as well as the point method for selecting the most preferred information system. The peculiarity of the matrix under consideration is that enterprises are divided in it not according to the principle of “good-bad”, but for each enterprise the most preferred information system is selected. An example of the use of the tools considered in the article for improving the information support of enterprise management and increasing its competitiveness on this basis is given in the production enterprise. The methods and approaches considered in the article are universal and can be applied to the analysis of enterprises of various activities and forms of ownership.
