Improving the competitiveness of the railway industry through a modified organizational design model

The article justifies the importance of changing the approach from "organizational structure" to "organizational design" using the example of a railway industry enterprise in modern conditions. It is supposed to supplement the "star model" of organizational design by J. Galbright with the sixth area - the external environment: partner companies, to carry out a complex project for the development of a domestic product. The proposed approach will allow the introduction of a repair system based on the condition of the equipment, which will extend the maintenance-free period of the structural blocks of the transport fleet. Subsequently, the data obtained can be used to continuously improve the mechanisms used. The use of organizational design in this case will reduce the cost of repair services and increase the competitiveness of the organization of the railway industry.
