The article discusses the features of the design and construction of highway structures in the conditions of the first road-climatic zone with a harsh, sharply continental climate. To ensure the reliability and durability of road structures, it is first necessary to ensure proper drainage, since water is one of the main causes of destruction of the road surface. Various materials can be used as drainage devices, but this article discusses the issue of increasing the load-bearing capacity of a road structure using the example of optimizing its drainage function by installing PVC drainage pipes.
