Late Neolithic of Sakhalin in the light of studying the archaeological sites in the northern part of the island

Based on the data from the archaeological sites of Northern Sakhalin, studied in the 2010s, the article attempts to reevaluate the time boundaries of the Late Neolithic of the island and demonstrate the cultural diversity of the period. Using an integrated approach, the author clarifies the chronology of the Imchin Neolithic culture, describes the sites that existed synchronously with the sites of this culture and suggests to unite them under the name «Veni Neolithic culture». Special attention in the article is paid to the internal chronology of the Imchin and Veni Neolithic cultures.
