Fires on the ship as a cause of death of sailors

This work is devoted to one of the most common types of accidents on ships - fires. The paper considers statistics on fires on ships in recent years, the causes of fires and factors that pose a danger to people during a fire. The materials of the investigation of ship fires that caused human casualties among the crew members are also being considered. In the course of the study, it was concluded that in the vast majority of cases, the human factor is responsible for the death of a person in a fire, and the direct cause of the fire is the human factor. Namely: negligent attitude to fire safety equipment, as well as insufficient training of crew members.
