For the first time in the history of Russian educational science, the intercultural dialogue (Russian and English) is considered as an object of cognitive interest of preschool children, while the formation of cognitive interest for the intercultural dialogue – as an aim of the pre-school stage of the linguistic and cultural education. The matter is reasoned by the social, psychological, linguistic and cultural rationale of the motivational and educational potential of the cognitive interest.
