Practice of Implementing the Course of Fundamentals of Russian Statehood in University Teachers’ Assessments

The article analyzes the practice of teaching the course of Fundamentals of Russian Statehood as a compulsory discipline in Russian universities. Based on in-depth interviews with teachers of the new discipline, the key difficulties in implementing the course are identified: they are the lack of unified approaches, interdisciplinary disagreements, shortage of educational and methodological books, and variability of staffing. The paper considers the most effective pedagogical strategies, forms of interaction with students and the specifics of perception by the youth audience. The author makes conclusions about the potential of the course for the formation of civic identity, patriotic attitudes and all-Russian values, and outlines directions for its further development.
