Practice-oriented model of creative potential development in students of teaching majors

Problem and purpose. The article analyzes the problem of creative potential development in students of teaching majors in the high school. It has revealed a contradiction between the requirements of FSES of HE to the level of training of future teachers and the real picture of activity of young teachers, experiencing serious difficulties in non-standard pedagogical situations, requiring creative solutions, creative self-realization. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the need for the development of the creative potential of students in the conditions of studying at the university; to present the author’s model, which allows students to effectively join the process under study; to trace the relationship between the level of the development of the creative potential of students motivated for creativity and the level of the development of their intellect and theoretical knowledge of creativity. The research methodologyconsists of analysis and generalization of interdisciplinary research on the development of the creative potential of the individual, normative and legal documents in the field of higher education, the experience of training students of teaching majors in an agricultural university. Based on this, an experiment was conducted on the basis of Volgograd State Agrarian University, within the framework of which empirical, theoretical, mathematical, statistical methods and the method of included observation were used. Results. On the basis of the personality-activity, resource and productive approaches, the definition of “student’s creative potential” is formulated, its essential characteristics are generalized. The author’s model of step-by-step development of the creative potential of students of teaching majors, the implementation of which does not require a radical restructuring of the system of education in the university, is proposed. Diagnostic support for the development of students’ creative potential, allowing monitoring this process, is presented. Conclusion. Based on the analysis of the social order of the society and the requirements of the FSES for a competent creative specialist, the necessity of developing creative potential among students of teaching majors is substantiated in the conditions of their education at the university. Relying on the results of the correlation analysis, the relationship between the level of the development of creative potential of students motivated for creativity and the level of the formedness of their own base of theoretical knowledge about creativity and intelligence development, which should be no less than 115 IQ, is revealed.
