Center-right parties of Germany and Austria: activities in the European parliament of VII convocation

The article deals with activities of European Parliament members of the center-right parties of Austria and Germany in 2009-2014. The author substantiates the reasons of choosing the center-right parties for the study. The initiatives and requests of the Parliament members are reviewed, and their subjects are compared with the general attitude towards the European Union in Germany and Austria. Representatives of the German parties, being committed to the ideas of European integration, are actively engaged in the issues of European projects (the foreign policy requests are common), in contrast to the Austrian delegates, who are more euroskeptical (the requests are concerned with the domestic policy primarily).
