Law enforcement in combat with information mystification

The study presents an analysis of legal acts regulating the dissemination of false information in the media. The relevance of the work lies in the fact that the phenomenon of "fake news" in modern conditions is becoming essential for manipulation and abuse. The ongoing reforms, changes in the legal regulation of relations arising from the dissemination of false information place certain accents and determine the vectors of development. Not being new, according to the authors, the term is considered insufficiently studied: there is no unified understanding of the essence and content of this phenomenon. In this connection, the paper concretizes the term "fake news"; examines the points of view of researchers of problems related to this phenomenon; examines legal acts regulating legal relations; analyzes examples of law enforcement practice.
