Law enforcement practice of territorial bodies of military police in criminal proceedings

The military police at the level of federal legislation, in particular the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, is the competent body of criminal procedural activity, but cannot carry out operational investigative activities. The only way to resolve this conflict may be to include military police bodies in the number of bodies carrying out operational investigative activities by making appropriate amendments to the Federal Law “On Operational Investigative Activities”, however, even in this case, these two areas of activity should be carried out by different units, since in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, the person who carried out operational investigative activities- investigative measures, cannot carry out criminal procedural proceedings on the same fact.
