This article analyzes the ideas of the younger generation of Russian emigration in 1920s-1930s. The authors focuse on the image of the Orthodox family and its reflection in the program documents and public rhetoric of the Union of Mladorossy (Young Russians) and the National Union of the New Generation (hereinafter - NSNP). The fight against the religion and the patriarchal family that started in the Soviet Union caused serious concerns in the emigration sphere. The younger generation tried to preserve the historical traditions of the people through the transfer of knowledge, culture and experience to subsequent generations. Mladorossy considered family as a fundamental unit of society. Therefore, they proclaimed the revival of the institution of family and favored the recovery of life. Creating healthy economic environment, strengthening the institute of family was one of the points of the program of the Mladorossy. The family should be brought up in the spirit of the Orthodox Church. Because of this situation, the Orthodox Church was recognized as one of the most powerful factors of national revival by Mladorossy. To confirm their thoughts they turned to the history of their country, showing that the church had previously saved Russia and united the scattered forces. The Orthodox Church and the family were the factors that helped to preserve the historical memory. The analysis of policy documents shows that the members of the National Union of the new generation favored a patriarchal family; women's work outside the family was not welcomed. The younger generation represented Russia as a traditionally Orthodox country based on historical traditions. Reflecting the religious question in the program documents underscores the importance of this aspect of life of the Russian people.
