The article deals with the problem of combining education and upbringing in the spirit of Orthodox truths. The role of the patristic heritage in the formation of the spiritual and moral orientations of the Russian people and, in particular, in the educational process is noted. It is concluded that it is necessary to introduce into the educational process the Law of God and subjects on the spiritual foundations of Russian culture.
