Citizens' law-making initiative: the essence and procedure of implementation

The article examines the theoretical, legal, methodological and practical aspects of the implementation of the law-making initiative of citizens. The author analyzes the stages of the law-making initiative, as well as its social significance at the municipal level. Using the example of the municipal district of the Mechetlinsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan, he describes the types of social activity of the population. The author concludes that people are interested in the development of their locality and are able to participate in public life.
