Among legal conceptions, special attention is drawn to the conception of the outstanding German scientist of the twentieth century, philosopher and sociologist, Jurgen Habermas, author of the theory of communicative action. According to Jurgen Habermas, the law is based on the principle of discourse, which means that it should be the sphere of communicative reason. In his opinion, legal means are a condition for the possibility of social integration, and the law acts as a structure for mediating a communicative action. Being one of the most influential thinkers of modern Germany, Jurgen Habermas enjoys great popularity in other countries of the Western world, and especially in the United States, where his theories are studied in many universities.
