In the article, the author analyzes the legal policy in the agricultural sector of the member states of the European Union, as well as its development trends in the field of organic agriculture. Since the environmental sphere of activity of states has been formed and developed for a long time as problems arise related to soil depletion, deterioration of water and atmospheric air quality and, as a result, with the awareness of society of the importance of solving environmental problems and the need to take coordinated measures and decisions to prevent degradation of environmental resources, loss of their ability to self-repair. In the modern world, over the past decades, the problem of the development of ecological agriculture in the context of ensuring environmental safety and rational use of natural resources has been a key area of cooperation between States at all levels of interaction and continues to be the focus of attention both at the national and international levels. The leading countries of the world have embarked on an environmentally oriented, resource-saving approach in the implementation of economic activities, including in the agricultural sector. Thus, today, in modern conditions of management and development of the agricultural sector, more and more attention is paid to organic agriculture. The article is based on the materials of the scientific qualification work previously performed by the author.
