In modern conditions of post-industrial development of the Russian state, advancing economic growth, modernization of the legal system and ensure the sustainable prosperity of society, the problems of operational search activities of internal Affairs agencies in the fight against crime are of particular importance and relevance. Therefore, there is a need to create innovative, up-to-date devices for analytical research of this phenomenon, to develop scientifically based recommendations for improving the activities of the operational search service, as well as to find a mechanism for resolving crisis situations at a civilized level. The article analyzes the essence of the work of operational search services, discusses the organization and legal regulation of operational search activities, the use of its data in the process of proving criminal cases. Special attention is focused on the development and research of the theory of operational search activities, which allows a detailed consideration of the structure of operational search activities and disclosure of the concept of categories of operational search activities and criteria for their classification. In addition, a comprehensive approach has been implemented, which will contribute to the modernization of practical and legislative activities in order to solve the tasks of operational search activities to identify prepared, committed, committed crimes, as well as a certain category of persons.
