The legal concept "subsoil plot" under the legislation of Russia and the USA

The article analyzes the concept “subsoil plot” in conformity with the legislation of the Russian Federation and the USA. The relevance of this research is due to the need to intensify the geological study of the subsoil in order to meet the existing and future demand for hydrocarbons and the task facing the state in the development of legal regulation and implementation of public administration to encourage subsoil users to increase the volume plots on its territory. Based on the analysis of the concept “subsoil plot” as the basic notion of subsoil use right in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation and the United States of America, significant differences are identified, including the mechanism for granting the right to use the subsoil plot.
