Legal regulation of the activities of jurors in pre-revolutionary Russia

The article is devoted to the features of the legal regulation of the jury court in pre-revolutionary Russia on the basis of the Judicial Statutes of 1864 and the laws adopted as a result of the «judicial counter-reform». The author highlights factors that reduced the effectiveness of the jury trial that functioned before the “judicial counter-reform”. She proposes to consider the “judicial counter-reform” as an adaptation of the institution of jury trial to Russian realities.
