Legal regulation of the economy: the historical experience of the United States

The analysis of the historical experience of legal regulation of the economy is relevant and significant in the light of the increasing influence of external negative factors on the world economy. In the context of the surging tensions over the spread of the COVID-19 virus and the increasing practice of imposing sanctions on certain States, more and more countries are crossing the line between a self-regulating market and an externally controlled state. In order to determine the main directions of the evolution of relations between law and economy in one of the most economically developed countries - the United States, the author used a comparative legal, historical, statistical, modeling and induction methods. The experience of the United States of America as a result of the study showed the failure and low efficiency of legal regulation of the economy, the destructive nature of state intervention in the main economic institutions and its indicators.
