Legal regulation of cryptocurrency

The article is devoted to the study of the legal regulation of cryptocurrencies in the international context and within the framework of Russian legislation; the main approaches of various countries to determining the status of cryptocurrencies are considered, including their recognition as financial instruments, property or objects of civil rights; special attention is paid to Russian regulations governing the circulation of digital assets; analyzes key problems and challenges arising in the legal regulation of cryptocurrencies, such as protecting consumer rights, preventing money laundering and terrorist financing; recommendations are offered to improve the legal framework in this area.
