The author of the study touches upon the issue of the usefulness of the regulation of consumer relations, emerging against the background of practical consideration of the principles of observing the rights of the consumer, as well as the interests of representatives of the business sector. The main issue of the study was the issue of assessing the state of consumer rights and the effectiveness of their protection in such an area as housing and communal services. The author emphasizes that the main reasons for such a frequent violation of consumer rights in this area, in fact, are not so much the weakness of legislative attention, but the lack of demand for the mechanism of their protection developed for such types of relations by the citizen himself. Separate attention is paid to the fact that management campaigns violate the rights of citizens in this matter deliberately, however, in legal practice, the identification of such facts is still problematic.
