The legal institute of freedom of conscience and religion in Russia at the present stage

The article is devoted to the consideration of the legal institution of freedom of conscience and freedom of religion at the present stage of development of the legal system of the Russian Federation. Its main components, principles, and sources are analyzed. It is noted that freedom of conscience and religion is an important achievement of Russian legal science and practice, since it reflects basic human rights and freedoms. At the same time, the article indicates the incompleteness of the formation of a legal institution, the need for legal elaboration of some categories and concepts of this legal institution.
