Improvement of basic educational programs and introduction of various forms and methods of development of independent types of work of students themselves into the educational process became an urgent task in the process of teachers' work. Moreover, attention should be paid to this from junior courses, since one of the main factors in the formation of the personality of a future teacher is self-education and self-education. If a student learns to learn, he himself will be able to reach certain highs in the profession, and most importantly, he will be able to teach others to learn by themselves.
Teachers in our field of teaching English do some work in this direction, for example: together with their teachers, our students participate in the preparation and conduct of various conferences, competitions, English evenings, actively decorate stands, take part in the preparation and conduct of events dedicated to writers' anniversaries , historical events and significant dates both in English-speaking countries and in Kyrgyzstan.
In view of the poor preparation at school, junior students are poorly prepared for the perception of independent work and for understanding its meaning. Most of these students need help in developing the skills of self-organization and self-control in the new learning environment for the further development of educational and professional motivation.
As practice shows, leading experts note that through the skills of independent mastering of meaningful material, solid foundations of fundamental knowledge of students are laid, educational and professional skills are formed, social and personal qualities of future teachers are brought up. In this regard, they write that the educational material for independent work of students should contribute to the formation of a decent person, attentive to others, who knows how to see the beauty of nature, who loves his country and is ready to be friends with the whole world. In the material for the independent implementation of students' academic work, the emphasis should be directed to the use of English poems, songs, tongue twisters, proverbs -folklore, classical and modern - as didactic material. This kind of authentic material not only allows you to work on pronunciation and enrich the vocabulary of students, but also makes it possible to carry out proper aesthetic education. Thus, students take their first steps into the richest world of English culture. From the junior courses, there is a regional direction of teaching English-speaking speech.
We must not forget that the linguistic and regional material, as very valuable in cognitive terms, requires mental efforts from the student when comparing the grammatical and lexical systems of English, Russian and native - Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages, develops linguistic ingenuity and acuity of speech.
The main thing in independent work is to teach a junior student to think in an original way, and based on the knowledge gained, find the right decisions and draw conclusions. A student who can think and work independently will always be able to master a certain amount of knowledge and will always successfully apply it in practice. In addition, independent work should be systematic and purposeful. It seems that various kinds of educational and methodological guides will help many students improve the spelling, lexical and grammatical norms of the English language within the program requirements and use them correctly in all types of speech activity, speaking, listening, reading and writing texts based on the passed language material....
We offer teachers to conduct the following types of IWS:
-
1. CDS on selected topics and lessons.
-
2. SRS according to interests and tastes.
-
3. CDS on closing gaps in classes.
-
4. IWS on preparation and delivery of modular tasks for current tests and exams.
-
5. Preparation of tests.
-
6. Preparation of abstracts and reports.
-
7. Preparation of reports and slides.
The results of the work carried out led us to the conclusion that it is necessary to use the types of independent work more widely. As we know, well-organized independent work contributes to better assimilation of the material, helps to consolidate, expand and deepen the knowledge and skills that students have acquired in school lessons.
As we know, the educational program is one of the most important tools for the effective implementation of the educational process. In this regard, a special experimental program is proposed for the independent work of students in the classroom in English. A program is proposed, tailored to the needs of today in the field of education: the introduction of innovative teaching methods and the development of students' creative abilities in the field of culture, history of English-speaking peoples, since a foreign language is the gateway to the world. Knowledge of the English language is a kind of bridge across the boundaries of your language environment.
When compiling such an electronic manual or training manual, the following methodological principles must be observed:
-
1. Submit materials in a variety of ways on a certain increase in difficulties.
-
2. Regularly work on correct pronunciation.
-
3. Work on particularly difficult topics to master.
-
4. Diversify communication practice, etc.
It seems that as a result of systematic conduct and accustoming to the principle of independent work, students will be able to correctly and correctly express their thoughts in English, using proverbs and sayings. Students will have the opportunity to keep up a conversation, lead a discussion, express their opinions and give advice.
Comprehensive teaching of a foreign language is aimed at fulfilling one specific task -mastering the skills of oral speech based on the development of the necessary automated written speech skills.
Of course, there are a lot of ethnocultural materials, but you can take what you need to know in accordance with the curriculum. It seems that this area of work will need to be supplemented with various educational materials. We offer the following materials, divided into semesters:
-
1. Little Tom (Part I).
-
2. Proverbs.
-
3. Poems for learners.
-
4. Plays.
-
5. Riddles.
-
6. Tongue Twisters.
-
7. Tests for self control.
Skillful combination and transition from simple to more complex tasks will help to achieve the set goals, and most importantly, from the junior courses the main principle of learning will be introduced into the consciousness: the best way of learning is self-education.
