Legal basis for the use of the armed forces of Germany outside the area of the NATO's responsibility

The article discusses the process of design (1994) and modernization of the legal mechanism of usage of the German armed forces outside the country and its importance in the implementation of country's policy on the world stage. Main attention is focused on the functioning of the institute of Bundestag's control over the actions of the Government with the participation of the Bundeswehr outside the area of NATO's responsibility. In this regard the article researches the “Act of Parliamentary Participation” (2005) and its consequences. There are defined “legal gaps” in the use of the Bundeswehr, which are connected with the obligations of Germany as a NATO member state. It analyses their impact on the German policy in the international security environment.
