Legal bases of the inerversability of disciplinary responsibility for the employees of the internal affairs bodies for driving a vehicle

Based on an analysis of Russian legislation, the article discusses the issues of ensuring road safety by bringing drivers with special legal status, who are employees of internal bodies, to disciplinary, administrative responsibility for driving while intoxicated. The author, on the basis of the studied judicial practice, comes to the conclusion that an employee of the internal affairs bodies who allowed to drive a vehicle while intoxicated is subject to mandatory dismissal from the internal affairs bodies as having committed an offense, defaming the honor of a police officer, damaging his authority and contradicting the requirements for to all employees of the internal affairs bodies, regardless of the administrative or criminal liability provided for this unlawful act. At the end of the article, attention is drawn to strengthening the institutions of mentoring, surety and mutual responsibility of employees and heads of internal affairs bodies at all levels.
