Legal foundations of nature protection

In modern general scientific ecological-legal literature, as well as in the environmental legislation of the Russian Federation, various definitions of the concept of nature protection are given. However, in different sources this concept is treated differently. In some works it is disclosed through such a legal category as "rational use of natural resources", in other works, its understanding is taken as the activity of the relevant subjects of environmental public relations aimed at preserving and restoring favorable environmental conditions. In some cases, the concepts of "protection of nature" and "environmental protection" are used as equivalent concepts.
