The dictatorship of the proletariat was supposed to serve as a transitional step towards the creation of a classless society, but Soviet national policy faced insurmountable obstacles along the way. The Bolsheviks used the law to form a workers' society that experienced a split twice: during the Civil War and collectivisation. And all this time, only a fraction of Soviet citizens «belonged» to the nation. The Great October Revolution and the Great French Revolution showed that class affiliation divides the citizens of one state and breaks social unity.
Social unity, unity of society, soviet people, russian people, working people's society
