Legal basis for the Russian empire police department's care of good human behavior in society

This article presents a general description of the law enforcement activities of the police of the Russian Empire and focuses on the police competence associated with overcoming in the Russian society of the XIX century moral vices in the form of drunkenness, begging and forbidden games. Considering the noted sphere of police activity in the context of domestic police studies, the author appeals to the normative provisions of the Russian legislation of the specified historical period.
