Legal Issues of Digital Legacy

The article is devoted to the characteristics of problems that concern the specifics of the implementation of digital rights, in particular, the inheritance of digital property in modern Russia. The article presents a general description of the digitalization process in the legal system and formulates the main problems concerning the inheritance of digital property. Purpose is to formulate and describe the main problems of digital inheritance in the modern Russian Federation. In the process of the conducted scientific research, the formal-legal method, the method of structural-functional analysis, and the problem method were used. The authors highlight and describe such problems of inheritance of digital property as theoretical legal understanding of the object of legal regulation, features of inheritance of an account in social networks, inheritance of digital currency and cryptocurrency. Based on the analysis, a conclusion is made about the need to develop and adopt a set of normative and legal acts that will clearly define the status of digital rights. The novelty and originality of this work lies in the fact that the authors have systematized and organized the main problems of inheritance of digital property.
